What barrel are you using? The reason I ask is the thread protector looks weird. If you want, I probably have a 2-part Tasca 76 tube laying around with correct thread protector if you want one.
Jeff
Do you mean me? If so, Aber or Barrel Depot, I can't remember for sure but probably Aber.
Speedster, casting/foundry marks look real good. Archer?
I got a little done myself last night, but ran out of the house this morning w/o taking any pics.
Sherman progress. Front fenders modified to match pics, not done yet, some bits added here and there. I added the pad and lock pawl for the gun travel lock, mostly because having pics of it made it kind of fun to do. Pics: And I've started sticking bits to the turret....
Fellas, i took a hit to the Mojo. Im currently working my way out of it. I put my Sherman aside after alot of thought, not something i ever do, but i did this time, hadnt set at the bench for many days. Ive decided to do a small project...an easy breezy OOB build to snap back. Ill hit the Sherman build again soon.
Got the base coat and markings on this as well. Stars were a little greener than what I expected but I'll leave them. They are still a bit wet here and haven't sucked down yet. There is an edge that will go away.
No new pics yet. I just spent some time cleaning the road wheels and idler's to free them of the casting seam. Now to incorporate Garys little trick so I can paint the wheels and VVSS units separate.
I can't wait to get to the resin part of the build!
EVERYONE is doing so well and getting WAY ahead of me.

Cheers fellas, Gary
Hurry back brother Gary! I miss your progress pictures badly man!
My mojo takes a hit all the time, but my story is much different.
Hmmm, what to do when the wife stays with her sister over night? Why, jump in the model room, of course. I have so many bits and pieces out from all the Sherman parts boxes out, I spent as much time looking for "good" parts as actually sticking them on. I did however manage to get something done. I'm trying to use Tamiya parts as much as possible, staying in the spirit of this GB, but sometimes I'm like a kid in my own candy store. I guess the colors of the parts are a give-away. Anyway, a few tool straps and anything else I can fudge up and it's time for primer. I'm going to have to dig into my brass stash for a few bits, but it's close.....
