This project was based on the Dragon Kit #6325 with a fair number of aftermarket upgrades. It was done to represent a tank of the 761st TB (known as the Black Panthers), one of three African American TB activated during the war. The 761st is the most recognized of the three and was eventually awarded the Presidential Unit Citation after a long campaign to be recognized for their outstanding combat record. There is a complete build log of this project over on Armorama. Be Warned! If you are intent on reading the build log from start to finish, you'd better pack a lunch...it's over 10 pages long! The project took over 2 years and technically, it's still not complete. I owe this model a suitable display base with a proper identification plaque. That's coming after I complete another, more time-sensitive project that I'm working on at the moment.
Many of the members on this site are familiar with this project and contributed their knowledge and feedback along the way and for that, I say many thanks. For those just seeing it here for the first time, I hope you like what you see AND that it inspires you to learn a little something about the 761st and their very compelling history. Cheers!

Figures are a mix of Dragon, Nemrod and Miniart, all with Hornet head swaps wearing Tamiya helmets. Actually the driver has the Dragon tankers helmet and M1 steel pot.
Stowage is a mixture of Tamiya and tarps made from A+B Putty. Can't recall where the ration boxes are from at the moment.
Thank you for both your post and your build. The quality is awesome. I am thinking of doing a build dedicated to the 761st myself and one of my issues is finding African Americans figures of that era to do so. I really don't want to paint Caucasian figures brown and call it done. Any links or whatever you could give me would be greatly Appreciated.
