My name is Anders Thim and I live in Stockholm Sweden. I am in my mid 50´s and have been building or shall I say trying to build plastic kits since the 60´s, on an on and off basis. My interest in the Sherman is rather new as I have concentrated on German armor in 44-45 for a number of years now. But it was while I browsing the net that I stumbled upon a picture of "the" French Jumbo that I saw the light. When I got the Tasca Jumbo a few weeks later was I as they say "hooked". So I have now got myself a nice collection of Shermans that I will try to put together in due time. They are a mixture of Dragon and Tasca. Most of them will end up with French markings at least is that my plan. Anyhow I am happy that I found out about you guys and I am looking forward to be active here and learn from my peers.
I would love to build my Jumbo as the French one but I am afraid that the markings are beyond what I am able to "produce". As of yet am I not aware of anyone making any decals for that particular Sherman.
I have been in touch with both Archer and Bison Decals but there is no "risk" that either of them will produce a set for the French Jumbo. Bison stated that there would be high printing cost because of the complex markings(Cant argue with that one) Archer said that they had a huge backlog of to do sets(cant argue with that one either)so they said thanks but no thanks.

I talked to friend of mine earlier today. He is also plastic builder like yours truly. But his kits have wings on them"Shudder". Anyhow he advised me to contact Peddinghaus Decals! Yes of course they have made me two 1/16th sets for the TII some time ago. So I will send them a mail tonight and see what happens.

I was going to suggest Pedonghaus, I was looking at their web site this morning. They have a lot of decal sets with French Sherman markings.
