Looks nice, Mark! I'll watch this with interest, and will try my hand at doing the diesel conversion work myself on the Takom Grant. The hull & deck work should be straightforward, and the Aussies added an armored cover over the deck ventilation grilles so I won't have to be too fussy about the size & pattern of mesh.

I had thought of throwing a Diesel engine in but not sure if it will be worth the cost and effect. Will see how it goes. Hoping to pull the Academy kit out of storage and check what I have for mid Sherman bogies.
If you want Academy bogies, I've got several sets on hand. As far as my Aussie Grant goes, I won't be putting an engine in there, just converting the hull to that pattern. Since you're doing an M31B1 with this set, including an engine itself opens up another large can of worms if you are opening hatches...the firewall is different and an interior has to be fabbed up. At least the winch is the same one used on the M32 and Dragon Wagon, so either one of those could temporarily donate parts for duplicates to be made in resin.

Oh no! Was going to add it only if you can see through the mesh. On the real pictures, I can see in the engine bay but I think the SOL mesh is too small.
If anyone here has an actual M3A5, would you kindly measure up the engine deck for us? We can do the math from metric if required...:>))
The other option is to do something every draftsman and engineer is horrified by, and that is to scale from a drawing. If you've got Hunnicutt, you have a 1/48 drawing that you can measure from. Do the scale conversion to 1/35 and compare to the part and see how far off they are. If it's less than maybe thirty thousandths, I would guess SOL has it close to right when you account for line width on the drawing and measuring a page that might not be totally flat.
