Looking good so far. Beware the fit of the differential cover & bolt strip, it's a pain the butt. This is probably Dragon's best Sherman to date, but it's still riddled with assembly & fit issues. I've got one to the weathering stage now and it will make an appearance in the gallery here sometime soon; Guards Armoured Division in battleship gray at the final parade in June of '45. The features exhibited on this kit are closest to an ALCO-built tank from the first quarter of 1943, but it's missing the half-round feature on the glacis where the fixed MGs once were and the splash guards around the hinges on the driver's hatches among other little details. If you've got Son of Sherman it's not hard to make the changes for an ALCO tank. The turret is a bit of a stretch for Q1 '43, some features would have been introduced only at the very end. But it's a Firefly, and turrets were not mated to their original hulls on the conversion line so we're OK on that score.

Eastrock, you should tone down that turret seam. It's not a big weld seam, it is a small mold parting seam...not any different really than the mold seams we see on our model parts. What I do for this area is to simply fill any gap with putty, and add some .010" rod to make the seam. I texture it a little as you would a weld, but not too much. Take a look at these: This is my Guards Armoured Firefly using the same Dragon kit.
Keep up the good work! Greg
