Italeri kit, On the Mark PE, I did casting texture with a mix of 3M automotive spot putty and made the hull machine gun cover out of A+B putty. This is the only model I have ever painted with Tamiya paint. The markings are stencils and the turret strips are just taped off. The was was done with oils light browns and "yellow" mix. Not much else done. I think the muzzle break is from DML, can't remember. This has been a shelf queen for a while now. I need to break down and order some track for it, load it up with gear and call it done.
I'm thinking Panda track, we will just have to see.
Well dusted off this unfinished project this weekend. I bought over the years a couple sets of separate link tracks (Panda and Bronco) the assembly of them is just hard on my hands so of course the project sat. Last month on Ebay I found some AFV Club T-62 rubber band track and bought it. Now with new fire I went at this again. Started to look at it a thought I should update it since I know a little more and I did somethings wrong. I'm thinking there should not be a repaint just some touch up. Not rebuilding the turret.
Starting point, the old Italeri M4A1 kit with Dragon gun tube, road wheels, phone box, jerry can holder and split loaded hatch. I did two types of casting texture on it. For the turret I used a thinned mix of putty and for the hull I cover it with liquid cement and stippled the hull with a brush while the glue was wet. On The Mark post WWII PE was used. I made the hull MG cover from A+B putty. Markings are painted with the use of Stencil it stencils.
I added Archer casting numbers, Shapeways hull lift rings, Panzer art antennas, removed the PE tool brackets (wrong places), scratched some brackets for the Shapeways exhaust grill an scratched some mirror brackets. Still need to add some bolts to the suspension, MG brackets on the turret. I also found some Dragon tools to add.
Very nice, Speedster! Good to see an unfinished shelf queen dusted off and moving forward again. come to think of it, I have a couple of dozen projects like this one myself that I ought to get back to.
