Seeing as how this is my one and only Sherman build right now, will start the thread on this Forum also. No one seems to have shown this one so far. It's the 1951 Korean War Flamethrower. There were some different versions late in the WWII late in the Pacific Operations Command. Most of you have already seen the start on the Social Forum. This being my first Sherman, have already made a few mistakes on the Track rollers, etc. Melted the flame thrower barrel, by putting too much Pro Weld glue down the halves. So made a new one out of copper tubing. Using the flat black primer to start with dark shades and am using AK US Green modulation set to do the 6 shades of green.
Agreed with ^ The metal will withstand the heat better. Good job so far, will you be attempting the refill hose on the side, like is shown on the boxart?Mine didn't have anything like that.
Thanks John! Need to do allot more on it and lighten up the streaking a little. Been putting off building the Tracks ( for obvious reasons). Started putting the 8 billion guides on. Just finished up 4 sections. Now the curved end pieces, then paint.
Oh yeah, I find it best some times to start on the tracks early, and do a little at a time throught out the build if possible. Helps from getting burn out.
