Somewhere in Normandy. A 'Then & Now' diorama in progress.

I'm not a prolific builder by any stretch of the imagination. In the spring/summer, I get very little time to get into the Man Cave to create anything. This one, utilising a Dragon Sherman Firefly Mk Vc has taken 2 or 3 months to get to this stage. It's to be placed in a diorama setting, half of which will be in monotone colours, like a Pathé newsreel, the other half being set in 2014, and in full technicolour. The idea is simple - to show the passage of time, how things change, how things stay the same. The important element in this piece isn't the tank itself, although a huge amount of effort (for me, anyway) is going into it, but the interaction between three key figures. More will become apparent as I get further down the line with the build.

At the moment, I'm pretty stuck on the tracks. I haven't yet decided whether I'll use the link & length tracks with the kit, or buy some Friul tracks for added realism. As I said, it's a difficult decision as the focus is to be on the figures, rather than the vehicle.

I always like to hear any criticisms, tips etc. so please don't be afraid to comment. I'm still pretty much a learner, having been drawn back to the hobby two years or so ago by the need to have something to do here when we're not too busy!
