I've got a bunch of them, that's for sure...projects I started but ran into problems with, or ran out of inspiration, or lacked sufficient research material to carry them through to completion. I've been thinking about them again lately, and considering what might follow the Madill on the bench when that one is far enough along to share some bench space. Seeing the M2 Treadway bridge section and adapter over at Shapeways has me thinking: I've got an Academy M3 Lee started with a Legends M31 conversion set. I've got images of an M31 with the treadway bridge cantilevered out front and supported by the winch cable. The Shapeways designer has done the hard work here, all I would have to do to the bridge adapter is, well, adapt it to the Lee final drive. It's pitched up on I-Beams so that the bridge adapter sits at the level of the sponsons. I will need to grind off the suspension mounting pads, and get Tasca/Asuka's VVSS set C, the early type with return rollers above the suspension bracket. The front end will have to be built really compressed, and the back end somewhat elevated, to account for the weight of the bridge. Hmmm...this is beginning to read like a plan. I guess I had better start slotting these things into the hobby budget.

You're more disciplined than I am, Mark. My penchant for visualizing ambitious projects sets me up for creating shelf queens, at least until I work through, over, or around the obstacles I encounter.

Dang...interesting thread. Let me see...shelf queens. I have Tasca/Tamiya M4A3 76 hvss done but for the tracks and am painting a set of Tamiya ones now because I couldn't get kit ones to work. Then there is my M4A1 dv that just needs weathering. Oh yeah, how about my M4 dv done up as 4th armored 8th TB in Normandy that my weathering is too light and needs tracks. Cant forget my M4A3 75 wet with complete fighting compartment and turret waiting on just one side of tracks to be finished so I can plan my first diorama in 25 years. Then comes my Sherman III that needs markings and weathering and a quick build for my brother in law of Tamiya M4 with calliope rocket launcher that just needs markings and weathering as well. Damn...forgot M51 Degem Beth that I knocked a few parts off of and need to fix that only needs weathering after that. And I guess that leaves my M4 Normandy kit that has low bustle non pistol port cheek armored super detailed calliope kit that I cant even seem to drag out of the box that lower hull is done.
And lastly, a 32nd scale F4U from 21st Century Toys that I will get paid for. Just need to paint the prop.
Then there are the things I want to do. Aunt Jemima now that Star has re-released the decals, Firefly Vc, and the Firefly Ic I have that uses the Cheasepeake Models hull and turret Mike Renaldo gave me 6 years ago.
