As I slowly finish my M4A3 remanufacture on Okinawa, I was thinking about what to do next. I've got a Red Army 76 on the way in the mail and am going to swap hulls and turrets fro this and M4A2 PTO. Would the time frame be ok for a late 76(w) Soviet to have a really worn out almost gone whitewash or would this tank not have showed up soon enough to be whitewashed. If any one has scale plans for the middle exhaust deflector for the M4A2 I'd appreciate it.

Hey Jeff,
I'm not totally sure on the timeline regarding your question but it does sound plausible. However this is how I would approach it from "A Model Philosophy" Numbers 7 & 3.
Number 7: Accuracy Is Overrated. Often many people get to wrapped around the axel about some little factoid, tid-bit or knickknack that while no doubt interesting has virtually no impact. I even see on other forums where people will not build a kit because the turret is 2mm to narrow…give me a break! Another common one is the discussion regarding the “correct” shade, tone…or whatever of over olive drab (OD). I mean really what does it matter. We all understand that OD is a shade of brown with some greenish tones in. But that is dependent on the environment and lighting… I don’t have a degree in color theory but it looks like there is a little green in it to me and that’s all I need to know.

Number 3: Build For Yourself. Do you often ask yourself sitting at the bench; “ok what will the judges (or whoever) be looking for or would like to see?”. If you do ask this question then that means your not building for yourself but are building someone else. While many of us enjoy building in that fashion it can lead to frustration and disappointment for others thus ruining the enjoyment of the hobby. This is one I have to continuously refer back to as I get stuck asking that question. Remember why you first started building models to begin with. You are the only one that needs to be happy with the results

What you have planed should be be really interesting so I say go for it. I don't think I have plans for the exhaust deflector but I check my files. L@@king forward to seeing this Project here in The Shop soon!
