It has to be a prototype. The test vehicle at Bourges Arsenal was just such a vehicle, the FL-10 mounted on an M4A1 hull. The prototype M50 with the same gun was built there on an M4A2 hull. All the Egyptian vehicles were M4A4/A2 hybrids. I don't know how many were converted; maybe a hundred or so? It was rather an odd decision, given that Egypt was already receiving large numbers of T-34/85 tanks and SU-100 tank destroyers from Czechoslovakia. The IDF captured some in 1956 and more in 1967. Those captured in 1956 were taken into service after being rebuilt into M50s, the turrets presumably were used as spares for the IDF's own AMX-13s. France didn't convert Shermans to the AMX turret for their own use, so this has to be the prototype.
"You could probably use some armor. A Sherman can give you a very nice...edge!"

Thanks for the reply sir. It does look to be an interesting kit.
A tank filled with holes.
For that is what shall become.
Boom we go.
Goodbye.

Awww, I neither need nor deserve the "sir". I was only an Army ROTC cadet, and didn't go on to get a commission. Something about a girl distracting me, as she's continued to do for over 30 years now.
