Thought I'd start the thread on this build but will get some pics up later. I've had this kit for over a year, actually BJ snatched this one up for me at the AMPS Nats in 2012, and am not just getting to it. After being motivated by some color images in a book I have of heavily weathered Shermans, I thought it was time to give this one a go.

So some progress pics to come in a bit.

Not much to show right now, but once I start back on her things will move fast.

Thanks John and yeah it's a cool kit. Compared to some of the Dragon German panzers there are much fewer parts and she goes together nicely...so far. I'm not going nuts with the build part as I am sure there are some corrections/mods I could do to the kit, but I want to concentrate on the painting and mainly the weathering part.

ah, thanks fellas. Didn't get around to pics, wife had priority tonight. I also was looking around in the admin and also trying to dig up a code/plug in.

Yeah I started it but that's about it. Been busy with life and doing the admin here and MSC and not much benchtime. ok not an excuse, but the damn HOT HUMID weather is bad right now. My tiny room gets full sun so it heats up during the day.

Well it's been a few months and I have been busy with other things....BUT the Sherman has hit the bench again. I managed to get the lower hull and running gear finished and have to start some Fruils I have for this model. Also plan on loading this one with gear from Value Gear.
Still need to take some new pics of the progress.

Well it's been some time since this hit the bench, and am now making some slow but steady progress. Building basically OOTB with the exception of adding Value Gear stowage.

Gonna be a dirty, dusting tank..

Am also finally updating my website and gave it a face lift. More pics here.

I'd like to see how the lifecolor paints look. Been thinking of trying them myself.

BJ I have a couple of shades of green from Lifecolor and used them I think on my KV II, they work great.

Eric the lifecolor paints are excellent. They brush and AB great and I also thin them and use them as filters and washes. I really haven't had any problems with them and am starting to prefer them over Tamiya paints.
