Sorry guys, I totally forgot to post my progress this week end. Here it is, thanks for reminding me dave.
I’ve made a start on the streaking. I can see some streaks that are a little over powering in the pics. I have already went back and softened them up. Once I get a few more colors on, it will start to tie all together.
I’ve continued this weekend by adding more layers. A subtle filter has been applied and making a start on the rain marks. The layers are starting to tie all together and making it look softer now.
From the very beginning of the paint stages, I felt that I had made the base coat to light, and haven’t really been happy with it from the beginning. Then I feel that I got a little carried away with some of the streaking and it started to turn some funky green that I didn’t really care for.
I applied a light tan filter to the entire model to soften it back up again. I’m pretty pleased with the way it looks now. Next up will be to go back over the pin washes to add some more depth.
Loving your work on this one. The weathering is bang on mein freunde. I don't have much of the AK weathering products but I should probably pick up some of them. Is there a couple or perhaps three types you would recommend? Dave.
I don't have the product numbers in front of me at the moment, but for Olive Drab finishes I like the following, filter for NATO tanks, dark streaking grime, dust effects dark wash for green vehicles, and a little filter for DAK works good too!
Not much time for the bench lately, but I am making a little progress. I’m in the process of going back over the pin washes. This adds yet another layer of depth.
I thought I’d share a pic to show the slow progress.
