I got home today from the road. I have gotten a Tasca Sherman II DV as a secret santa gift. Seeing as how I had built this one earlier this year, how should I build this one? Are there any good stowage products for a British Shermans?
A tank filled with holes.
For that is what shall become.
Boom we go.
Goodbye.
Although you've already got one going, an El Alamein Sherman in camo would do nicely. Check out Dennis Oliver's booklet Codename Swallow: British Sherman Tanks at Alamein, Mushroom Publications #4201. It's loaded with inspiration for Alamein Shermans. Echelon and Bison make excellent decal sets for that, too.

"You could probably use some armor. A Sherman can give you a very nice...edge!"
Thanks for the info Greg. *edit* I found a Bison set on Ebay that has a set for a 2nd Armored Division(Yank) that has markings for an M4A1 DV that has the early final drive one piece cover.

Oh, that should be cool too. I'm assuming that it's OD overall, does it have any other colorful features like turret bands in white or yellow? Might make a nice model of a training tank in the US before Hell on Wheels shipped overseas.

The top of the turret is yellow. The sheet has it listed as April 1943. It looks like the Jerry cans are the early type that looked like the Germans used.

The early one piece FDA looks wierd with the M3 bogies and the DV hull.
Oh, yeah, that looks like a nice sheet. I don't have that one, and just yesterday I got an order in from Johan. Might have to place another order in a few weeks and get those North Africa sheets for the stash. The camo'd tanks with the yellow turret stripes and stars look like attractive subjects.

The markings come with the Tasca M4A1 DV kit and represent a vehicle from F Company, 66th Armoured Regiment, 2nd Armoured Division, Oran 1943 - assuming Tasca's research is correct The yellow is not straight from the jar but mixed to try to match the other markings. Weathering etc should blend them all together nicely.

Hi Gary.
Thanks. The one I got as a gift is the British El Alemain. The Bison decal sheet link shows the one you are building with the early one piece final drive assembly, aka transmission cover, and the forget it name in white. Hopefully when I get home next month, one of my Concord books will have a good pic of this tank.
